Seek SG is a campaign directed at parents of kindergarten children to take their children outdoors more often so as to combat myopia. It is found that children that develop myopia at the age of 10 is more likely to develop high myopia that greatly increases the risks to blindness.
We started the ball rolling by making a trip down to PCF Punggol South to observe an eye check-up and to seek advice from the principal and teachers on the children's learning abilities and curriculum. In order to formulate a campaign that will be popular with young children, we conducted informal interviews with our little friends who were extremely helpful and forthcoming with their comments. Our highlight of the day was a story from our little buddy about how Batman gets beat up by Superman!
We then moved on to distributing surveys targeted at parents at 10 kindergarten schools in total to understanding more about the parents' behaviour and feelings towards their child's eye health. And it was a successful mission! We thank all parents for helping us out with our surveys and in contributing to our cause.
